The EDC community loves Casio G-SHOCK digital watches for their bombproof construction and ability to do more than just tell time. But some of the newest models in this series are built even higher standard like “GW9400” and The Rangeman which can handle extreme temperature, pressure, or shock environments on-air/land/sea as mentioned before? This one has an aluminum case that’s waterproof up to 10 ATMs (40 meters) so it’ll keep your score going no matter where you go!
It’s jam-packed with useful functions that make it much more than a timepiece: it’s a useful tool to have with you wherever you find yourself. So whether you’re planning on taking it into some deep water or planning to climb a tall mountain, the G-SHOCK Rangeman should be your watch of choice.
Being a G-SHOCK it should be obvious that the Rangeman can roll with the punches of everyday life, but its particular design helps it stand up to hard use better than most.
The watch case and all of the buttons are sealed to prevent mud, dust, and dirt from getting in and causing the watch to malfunction when you need it the most. And the cylindrical shape of the buttons themselves makes them resistant to impact; the biggest button on the watch even has a bit of shielding around it to protect against glancing blows from the side as you have it on your wrist.
At the heart of the Rangeman is a Shock Resistant Triple Sensor, which allows the G-SHOCK watch to keep track of altitude, barometric pressure, and temperature. It’s also able to keep track of the direction you’re going with the built-in compass, which can be a lifesaver if you start getting lost out in the field. The watch itself features multi-band atomic timekeeping, which will automatically set the time for you even if you find yourself crossing multiple time zones in a day. It’ll also set the day and date properly too, as it’s programmed all the way to 2099. And because the watch has a built-in solar panel, it’ll keep on ticking without needing regular battery changes like some other everyday carry digital watches. When the sun comes down (predictably, because the Rangeman tells you sunrise and sunset), you can still read the watch in the dark with its LED backlighting.
The Casio G-SHock Rangeman is a must-have for any adventure. It’s tough, durable, and comes with all the bells and whistles you could need on your next great excursion which should hopefully be sooner rather than later!
The link below takes me right over there where I can learn more about it before making my decision whether or not this will become one of my favorite watches from Casio in years to come as well.
